(WASHINGTON, DC) - Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz ordered the immediate establishment of a national campaign to raise funds to support the people of Syria. This announcement was made on July 21 by the Ministry of Interior and goes into effect this evening.
This five-day campaign allows Saudi citizens to offer their support to the Syrian people as they continue to suffer from the cruel acts of the Syrian regime.
Saudi Arabia continues to call for a political transition process in Syria, as well the enforcement of U.N. sanctions against the Syrian regime. The Kingdom has also called for the Syrian issue to be forwarded to the U.N. Security Council under Chapter VII of the U.N. Charter and an end to the transfer of arms to the Syrian regime.
