(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the Kingdom’s donation of $50 million in relief funding to Haiti following the earthquake that devastated the island two weeks ago. The assistance was initiated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and will be distributed through the fund established by the United Nations for Haiti.
Saudi Ambassador to the U.S. Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir said, “The Kingdom’s contribution to alleviate the suffering of the people of Haiti is in accordance with its historic policy of helping those in need. We hope that the people of Haiti will be able to overcome this tragedy and rebuild their nation.”
