(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its 84th (according to the Hijra calendar) anniversary of the foundation of the Saudi state by King Abdulaziz Al-Saud in 1932.
“This is a proud day for the people of Saudi Arabia and the Arab world,” said Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. “Under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia is thriving in various sectors, including education, health and infrastructure.”
Saudi Arabia is one of the fastest developing countries in the world and has the largest economy in the Middle East. As a result of the dramatic growth and progress in Saudi Arabia today, infant mortality is low, life expectancy is high and education is universal.
National Day is celebrated by Saudi embassies and missions throughout the world.
