(WASHINGTON, DC) - Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Abdulaziz bin Abduallah bin Abdulaziz called for unity among member countries while addressing the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) yesterday in Tehran. Prince Abdulaziz is representing Saudi Arabia at the summit on behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
During his speech, Prince Abdulaziz stressed the importance of working together to solve international challenges. He stated, “Based on the Kingdom’s principles and desire to spread peace in the international community, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia calls upon all member countries to solve their differences through peaceful ways and bilateral negotiation or through the International Court of Justice.”
Prince Abdulaziz also called on member countries to support other member states that face challenges, in an effort to achieve security, stability and prosperity among all nations.
While reaffirming the Kingdom’s support for the Palestinian cause, Prince Abdulaziz referred to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories as a major obstacle to peace and stability in the region and called on NAM member states that have not yet recognized Palestine to do so.
