(WASHINGTON, DC) - Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi yesterday in Jeddah to discuss joint efforts to combat terrorism across the Middle East. The visit marks President Al-Sisi’s first visit to Saudi Arabia since his election. 

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal delivered a statement following the meeting. “There is no doubt that the meeting between the leadership of the two countries is important in light of the current situation in the Arab and Muslim nation,” stated Prince Saud. “(There are) external wars, intervention from foreign powers, internal sedition and disputes within the Arab nation at a time when it is in utmost need for solidarity and to stand together as one man to repel the enmities.” 

Prince Saudi addressed the emerging conflicts in the region, adding "As long as the two leaderships meet, the hope is that their meeting and consultations are useful in reforming the situation in the Arab world so as to refocus support towards our oppressed brothers in Palestine, the afflicted people in Syria, this sedition in Iraq now, differences in Libya, and all the Arab world that require action to reform the situation.”
