(WASHINGTON, DC) – Saudi Arabia was among the 10 largest government donors of international humanitarian assistance in 2014, according to the 2015 Global Humanitarian Assistance (GHA) Report. Saudi Arabia contributed $755 million, making it the sixth largest donor.
The report said that Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) governments have been important international humanitarian donors, and their role is growing due to regional conflicts. Saudi Arabia more than tripled its contribution from the previous year, bringing the Kingdom from the 16th to the 6th largest government donor.
Saudi Arabia has been an active supporter of humanitarian efforts around the world for decades. Regardless of ethnicity or religion, the Kingdom remains deeply committed to helping those people who need it most.
