(WASHINGTON, DC) - On May 25, the Saudi Cultural Mission held a graduation ceremony for more than 7,000 Saudi students who completed higher education degrees this year in the U.S. under the King Abdullah Scholarship Program. The ceremony was attended by Saudi Minister of Higher Education, His Excellency Dr. Khalid Al-Angary, the Saudi Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Adel A. Al-Jubeir and the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Washington, D.C, Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa.

“I congratulate the recent graduates and our two nations on this tremendous achievement,” said Ambassador Al-Jubeir. “Initiatives such as the King Abdullah Scholarship Program expose our youth to new innovations around the world and promote cultural exchanges for generations to come.”

In 2006, King Abdullah established the King Abdullah Scholarship Program for study abroad. The Saudi government has offered scholarships to more than 150,000 students who are attending schools worldwide. There are more than 72,000 Saudi students currently studying in the U.S.
