HRH Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard, urged Muslim youth on Saturday to shun extremism and conduct themselves in a tolerant and temperate manner.

In a meeting at the Royal Court in Riyadh with participants in the recently concluded conference sponsored by the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), the Crown Prince told the youth gathered from around the world that "ours is a tolerant and temperate faith and we must conduct ourselves accordingly. There is no room for extremism or compulsion in Islam. In fact, it violates the tenets of our faith and the traditions of our Prophet."

The Crown Prince also told the gathering that "wisdom and reason must guide your statements and actions; you must not let emotions sway you. It is your responsibility, when you return to your nations, to counsel people to employ wisdom, patience and reason in dealing with issues."

Crown Prince Abdullah reiterated Islam's rejection of terrorism and the Kingdom's commitment to fight terrorism.
