(WASHINGTON, DC) – The Saudi-led Coalition in Yemen has handed to the legitimate government in Yemen 52 children who were recruited by the Houthi militia. Handing the children over was carried out in coordination with a number of international organizations, including the Red Cross and UNICEF.
The children were carrying weapons and were involved in mine-laying operations.
The children have been transferred to shelters according to their ages, and measures have been taken to protect the children and provide them with appropriate living conditions.
The Saudi-led Coalition Forces Command stressed that the involvement of children in war is considered an inhuman act and a violation of international law.
