The Ministry of Interior warned citizens and expatriates not to participate in television programs that illegally solicit donations.

Director General of Public Relations and Media at the Ministry of Interior Major General Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Marol said that some television channels use methods to raise funds, including the call for collecting donations for charitable projects, in addition to introducing programs with the aim of transferring money.

Dr. Al-Marol also said that promoting, funding and participating in such programs violate Saudi law.
