Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet's Session
The Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Mohammad bin Naif bin Abdulaziz chaired the Cabinet's weekly session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah this afternoon. The Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques began the session by expressing his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz for his continuing efforts in the service of the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors.
The Cabinet was briefed on Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense to Egypt and his meeting with the President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisit. The Cabinet praised the Cairo Declaration as a confirmation of the deep and close relationship between the two countries and their determination to enhance security and stability in the region and working together on the protection of Arab national security. The Cairo Declaration is also a rejection of attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of Arab countries.
The Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's condemnation and denunciation of the heinous terrorist crime carried out by Israeli settlers in the Palestinian village of Douma in the West Bank, burning to death a toddler and severely burning his parents and 4 year old brother.
The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom's condemnation and denounced the Israeli occupation forces and Jewish extremists' desecration Al-Aqsa Mosque, including preventing Muslim worshipers from entering the mosque and assaulting worshipers inside the mosque. The Kingdom appeared to the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and take the necessary measures to protect the Palestinian people from Israeli aggressive practices.
The Cabinet also praised the humanitarian truce declared by the coalition command in Yemen to allow the delivery and distribution of humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni people. The Cabinet expressed appreciation to the King Salman for his directives to provide urgent assistance to the Yemeni people and initiation of an airlift to transport humanitarian relief assistance provided by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
Minister of Social Affairs and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi said following the cabinet meeting that the Council of Ministers was briefed on the topics on its agenda, including topics in which the Shura Council participated in their study, and on the reports of both its General Committee and Experts' Bureau regarding them, and decided the following: approved Shura Council's Wildlife Protected Areas Regulation; approved the conclusions of the 25th Universal Postal Congress, including amendments to the general system of the Universal Postal Union, the Universal Postal Convention, the final protocol, and the agreement on postal payment services; authorized the Minister of Foreign Affairs, or his deputy, to negotiate and sign a draft general agreement for cooperation with the Ivory Coast; approved the accession of the Kingdom to the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products; and approved a number of measures to protect beaches and coastlines.
