Vice Custodian Chairs Cabinet Session
Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Mohammad bin Naif bin Abdulaziz chaired the Cabinet's weekly session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah this afternoon. The Vice Custodian began the session by offering condolences on the martyrs who were killed in the Asir terrorist bombing that targeted a number of members of the Special Emergency Force while performing prayer in the mosque. He continued to stress on the fact that these terrorist acts, performed by the Khawarij (outlaws), have no relevance in Islam and are stripped of all religious, moral and human values and will not affect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the unity of its people.
Minister of Culture and Information Adel bin Zaid Al-Toraifi said that the Cabinet expressed the Kingdom's gratitude to the brotherly countries, their officials, Islamic and international organizations, scholars, sheikhs and citizens for condemning the Asir terrorist bombing.
The Cabinet was briefed on the visit by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to Jordan and his meetings with King Abdullah II and Jordanian officials. The Cabinet emphasized the content of the joint statement issued following the Deputy Crown Prince’s meetings, which included an agreement on the importance of strengthening strategic, political, economic, military, and security cooperation between the Kingdom and Jordan, as well as mutual work on countering terrorism and terrorist organizations.
The Cabinet also welcomed the joint statement issued following the meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Doha.
The Cabinet approved an agreement between the Ministry of Interior and the German Ministry of Interior on providing assistance to develop and train Saudi Arabia's Border Guards.; an agreement on protecting underwater cultural heritage adopted by UNESCO General Conference at its 31st session held in Paris; and authorized the Minister of Foreign Affairs, or his deputy, to sign a draft agreement on the cooperation with the Central African Republic.
