President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz received in Riyadh yesterday a delegation of U.S. mayors currently on a tour of the Kingdom. The group is being headed by the Mayor of Carmel City, Indiana, James Brainard. During the meeting, Prince Sultan briefed the delegation on the Commission’s various projects in the fields of tourism, antiquities and architectural heritage, and then highlighted the distinguished relations between the Kingdom and the United States. For his part, Mayor Brainard expressed the delegation’s happiness to visit the Kingdom and its admiration of the country’s development and heritage.
The mayors’ delegation also met yesterday with Acting Director General of the Industrial Cities and Technological Zones Authority Saleh bin Ibrahim Al-Rasheed. During that meeting, the two sides discussed the Kingdom’s experiences in the construction of industrial cities, the attraction of investments in the industrial sector, and the establishment of investment partnerships with U.S. businessmen.
The delegation included Mayor Raul Salinas of Laredo, Texas; Mayor Kim McMillan of Clarksville, Tennessee; Mayor Kenneth Miyagishima of Las Cruces, New Mexico; and Mayor Brian Wahler of Piscataway, New Jersey.
