His Excellency Abdullah Alswaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, greeted the Chairman of the US Federal Communications Commission Ajit Pai, and several American officials within the sector of communications and information technology. The delegations discussed prospects of digital cooperation between the two countries, and ways to spur technological investments in Saudi.
The two sides exchanged expertise in the field of digital transformation, ways to reach digital communities by creating a digital infrastructure, supported by modern technologies, and promoting the application of such technologies. They also discussed the role of modern technological networks in supporting the expansion of government services, initiatives that help progress digital transformation, and increasing access to technology by youth.
During the meeting His Excellency Minister Alswaha highlighted the reforms and regulatory policies undertaken by the Kingdom in the communications and information technology sector, and encouraged American companies to increase their presence in the Kingdom. H.E. added that these reforms and policies contributed to the development of the communications and information technology sectors, which in turn spurred more investments in digital structure, as well as research and development centers.
