In a series of tweets, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for African Affairs Ambassador Ahmed Kattan made the following remarks:
"I would like to express my deep condolences to the people of Sudan and to the families of the victims of the recent unfortunate events. I wish a speedy recovery for the wounded, May Allah protect Sudan and its people from all harm.
The Kingdom, its leadership, and people will always stand in solidarity with the brotherly people of Sudan, to maintain its security and stability.
We hope that wisdom prevails and we call upon our brothers in Sudan, from all factions to engage in a constructive dialogue that will serve the interests of Sudan above all other considerations.
We also stress the importance of resuming the dialogue between the various parties in Sudan. We hope that through dialogue, they will achieve unity to stand together against all threats and challenges to Sudan.
Our priorities are Sudan’s security and stability. We are confident that the people of Sudan will not allow their country to descend into chaos and civil war, which only serves the forces of terrorism and extremism."
