As part of Vision 2030 and NTP's efforts to streamline government procedures and improve the effectiveness of government services, the Saudi justice ministry launched on Sunday eight new e-services in the notarization sector, as well as a digital mechanism for updating title deeds and obtaining a duplicate title deed, starting a new phase in the ministry’s digitization efforts.
Beginning on Nov 18th, e-notarization will provide several electronic services that dispense with paperwork, making notarization greener and more cost effective by saving about 8 million sheets of paper annually. The e-notarization system abridges about 70% of procedures and directs clients straight to the assigned notary’s office without having to go through the data entry hall. With these newly introduced e-notarization services, clients will be able to inquire about their Power of Attorney's (PoAs) validity, terminate unwanted ones, and identify the agencies that have checked the validity of their PoAs.
Additionally, the digital mechanism for updating title deeds will save 90% of the clients’ time. Under the new procedure, clients need only to visit the notarial office once the updated or duplicate title deed is ready.
