Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has temporarily banned the import of poultry meat, eggs, their products and equipment from five other US states and Thimphu, Bhutan because of a huge bird flu outbreak. The five US states are: Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Iowa. Last year, SFDA banned the imports from Oregon, California, Washington, Idaho, Minnesota, Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas for the same reason.
The Authority excluded from the temporary ban are thermally processed poultry meat and products or other internationally accepted treatments.
