The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomes the announcement by the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg to start a truce in Yemen, and halt all forms of military operations in the country and on the Saudi-Yemeni borders.

The Kingdom affirms its support for the announcement made by the Yemeni government and the Coalition to accept the truce. The Kingdom expresses its appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Special Envoy to bring a permanent resolution to the conflict, which is in line with the Saudi initiative to end crisis and reach a comprehensive political resolution, announced in March 2021.
