Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al Jubeir led the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation at the interim constitutional declaration signing ceremony in Khartoum, Sudan. He was accompanied by the Saudi Minister of State for African affairs Ahmed Kattan and the Saudi ambassador to Sudan Ali Jafar.
The Saudi delegation arrived for the ceremony after months of Saudi led efforts to encourage dialogue between different Sudanese parties, including support for international mediators.
"The Kingdom has been and is still in support of everything that guarantees Sudan's security and stability and its active contribution to conclude the partnership agreement signed between the Sudanese parties, and it gives a right hand to the efforts led by the Federal State of Ethiopia and the African Union, as an extension of this approach." Al Jubeir said in a tweet.
“The Sudan agreement is the first building block that will contribute to building a capable, secure state and economy, and will contribute to achieving the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people, the stability of Sudan is an important part of the stability of the region and it contributes to international peace and security,” he added.
