King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) is working to complete preparation of the components of the Saudi-built satellite (Saudi SAT 5B) in preparation for its launch, via the Chinese space rocket Long March 2D to support remote sensing services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This came in the framework of the cooperation between the Kingdom and China in various fields, including scientific field, which also includes the establishment of a project on genetics studies.
This cooperation enhances common desire between the leaderships of the two friendly countries to push forward the bilateral relations to broad levels and turn them into a strategic partnership with wide dimensions which expressed by mutual visits over the years, including the visit by then Crown Prince, now Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz to China in 2014. The visit contributed to advancing Sino-Saudi partnership in various fields.
