Saudi Arabia confirmed the importance of carrying out conventions to ban chemical weapons. It stated that it was among the first countries to accede to international treaties related to the ban of weapons of mass destruction and conventions to ban chemical weapons.
Addressing the 79th Session of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Saudi Ambassador to the Netherlands and Permanent Representative to OPCW Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Abu Haimid expressed the Kingdom's concern over international reports that the Syrian regime continuous to use chemical weapons against population.
Ambassador Haimid called for a firm stance against those who commit crimes by using these chemical weapons, bringing them to international trial and promptly issuing the final report of the fact-finding mission on the use of chemical weapons in Syria.
