The Official Spokesman of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Colonel Turki Al-Malki stated that on Sunday evening, the Saudi Royal Air Defense Systems detected an unidentified object headed towards civilian areas in Asir, Saudi Arabia. The air force dealt with the target in accordance with the rules of engagement. He added that no injuries or damages were reported as a result of the interception of the hostile Houthi drone.
The Official Spokesman condemned the continuous attempts by the Iran-backed Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects through UAVs, remote-controlled explosive speedboats, and hostile attacks emanating from Hodeida Governorate, particularly at a time when the Coalition Command is adhering to the ceasefire in Hodeida as defined by the Stockholm Agreement. Col. Al-Maliki added that the militia, in committing such hostile, terrorist acts, seeks to provoke Coalition forces into conducting military operations in Hodeida Governorate.
Col. Al-Malki reaffirmed the commitment of the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to supporting the political efforts spearheaded by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen, and the Chair of the Redeployment Coordination Committee, to successfully implement the Stockholm Agreement.
The Joint Forces Command by stating so, warns the Iran-backed Houthi militia in the strongest terms against targeting civilians and civilian objects, adding that their use of such terrorist tactics in suicidal attacks will be categorically and decisively deterred, and that the Joint Forces Command will take all deterring measures, in accordance with Customary International Humanitarian Law.
