President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett opened the Saudi Archaeological Masterpieces through the Ages Exhibition in Pittsburgh this evening. The event was attended by Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. The Carnegie Museums are hosting the exhibit, which is on the second leg of its U.S. tour. Over 227 relics highlighting the history of the Arabian Peninsula are on display.

After cutting a ceremonial ribbon, Prince Sultan toured the Exhibition and delivered a speech. He noted that the pieces introduce the historical heritage of the Kingdom and demonstrate its openness to world civilizations. Governor Corbett expressed his pride in the selection of Pittsburgh to host the Exhibition, praising the friendship and cooperation between the Kingdom and the United States.

During his own remarks, Ambassador Al-Jubeir commended U.S.-Saudi relations, highlighted his country’s achievements under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and noted the Saudi monarch’s leading role in facilitating dialogue between civilizations.
