The Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the terrorist attacks on military checkpoints in Egypt's North Sinai today in which dozens of people were killed, including civilians.
OIC Secretary General Iyad bin Ameen Madani expressed the OIC's full solidarity with the Egyptian government and people in facing up to terrorism. Madani added, that he is confident that such terrorist acts would only consolidate the determination of the Egyptian government and people to stand together and unite in the fight against terrorism and for peace and stability.
Madani reiterated the OIC's consistent position to fight terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, regardless of its source. He stressed the OIC's full commitment to continue to work through constant consultation with Member States and the OIC organs and institutions to confront the scourge of terrorism effectively within the framework of the OIC adopted resolutions.
