The Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) today condemned the barbaric bombing in Lahore, Pakistan on 27.

Secretary General of the OIC, Iyad Ameen Madani, expressed his sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the families of the victims, most of whom were celebrating the Easter festival.   He wished the injured quick recovery, and assured of the OIC's fullest support to the leadership, government and people of Pakistan in confronting terrorism and crime.

Secretary General Madani stated that this terrible crime is an affront to our humanity. He called for concerted efforts in order to eliminate criminal and terrorist groups; and address the causes of their emergence.

He also emphasized the need to isolate and hold accountable those behind these inhuman acts; and to pursue these groups that now threaten the lives of peaceful citizens and usurp their legitimate right to normal, dignified and peaceful life.
