Saudi Arabia’s production of desalinated seawater increased 10 percent from the previous fiscal year, the Water Saline Conversion Corporation reported in its 2014 Annual Report.
The Minister of Water and Electricity and chairman of the Water Saline Conversion Corporation, Abdullah Al- Husayyin, praised the efforts and rapid developments of the desalination industry in the Kingdom and said that in investment in the Jubail Institute for Research and Desalination Technologies is paying dividends for the Kingdom’s desalination program. The minister added that the Kingdom is expanding its network of pipelines to bring desalinated water to more than 45 cities across the country.
