Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz received two letters today, one from Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf on the depth of bilateral relations and his keenness on ensuring their continuity, and another from Sweden's Prime Minister Stefan Lofven in which he expressed deep sorrow and regret over the current crisis in the relations between the two countries, stressing the keenness of his government to maintain the relations between the two countries.
The Prime Minister also said in his letter that the role of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in protecting Islam and its Holy Places is clear, stressing that his government is concerned over the crisis in the relations between the two countries and is looking forward to welcoming the return of the Saudi Ambassador to Stockholm in addition to beginning work to enhance the relations between the two countries according to a dialogue that is based on mutual respect.
The letters were deliver by Baron Bjorn von Sydow, former Swedish Defense Minister and Special Envoy during a meeting with King Salman at Al-Oja Palace this evening.
