The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Monday, June 24, 2019. During the meeting, they reviewed strategic relations between the two countries, and discussed the latest developments at the regional and international levels, and the efforts being exerted towards them.
The meeting was attended by Princess Rima bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United States of America; Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior; Minister of State and Cabinet's Member Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban; Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf; and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. On the American side, it was attended by US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia John Abizaid; Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker; and Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State Michael McKinley.
Additionally, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, met with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during his trip to the Kingdom. In the meeting, they reviewed historical relations between the two friendly countries, as well as aspects of bilateral cooperation in various fields. They also discussed developments in the region, and affirmed the two countries' strong stance in confronting hostile Iranian activities, and combating extremism and terrorism.
The meeting was attended by Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense; Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United States of America; Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State and Cabinet‘s Member; Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Cabinet‘s Member; and Khalid bin Ali Al-Humaidan, Chief of General Intelligence. On the US side, the meeting was attended by US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia John Abizaid and a number of senior officials.
