The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace this afternoon.
King Salman began the weekly session by expressing his deep thanks and appreciation to King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan for the warm welcome and generous hospitality accorded to him and the accompanying delegation during his visit to Jordan. King Salman also expressed his appreciation to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the King, the Government and people for their great efforts exerted to ensure the success of the 28th Arab Summit Conference.
King Salman also briefed the Cabinet on the results of his meetings with Arab leaders on the sidelines of the summit expressing his pleasure over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's hosting of the 29th Arab Summit in Riyadh.
The Council of Ministers condemned the declaration by the Israeli occupation authorities to establish a 2,000 new settlement on 241 acres of Palestinian land in the West Bank for the first time in 20 years. The Council reaffirmed the Kingdom’s positions towards the Palestinian cause, including its condemnation of all actions taken by the Israeli occupation authorities and the Kingdom’s repeated calls to the international community to compel Israel to cease all arbitrary and racist measures against the Palestinian people.
The Council of Ministers renewed the Kingdom's condemnation terrorist attack in Parachinar, Pakistan and expressed its condolences to the families of the victims, Pakistan and its people.
The Cabinet lauded efforts security forces in pursuing terrorists and anyone who tries to undermine the Kingdom's security and threaten its citizens and residents. The Cabinet commended the security forces for their recent success in raiding a terrorist hideout north of Al-Awamiya in Qatif Governorate and foiling their terror plans.
