King Salman Chairs Cabinet Session
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh this afternoon.
At the outset of the session, King Salman briefed the Cabinet on the outcomes of his talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Mohammad Najib Abdulrazzak, confirming deep bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Cabinet commended the friendship and close cooperation between the Kingdom and France and appreciated the joint statement issued at the conclusion of the official visit paid by the Crown Prince to the French Republic and his talks with the French president and senior officials.
The Cabinet welcomed the statement of the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers issued at the conclusion of meetings of the 33rd session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers in the Tunisian capital and the Tunisia Declaration and its reconfirmation of the firm condemnation of terrorism in all forms in addition to the state's terrorism being practiced by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Arab Interior Ministers expressed their unqualified condemnation of the attack on the Kingdom’s diplomatic missions in Iran and Iran’s activities to destabilize the security and stability of Bahrain and other Arab countries by such terrorist groups as Hezbollah.
The Cabinet also reaffirmed the decision of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) declaring Lebanon's Hezbollah a terrorist group.
The Cabinet confirmed the Kingdom's speech at the 31st session of Human Rights Council in Geneva and its emphasis on the Kingdom's commitment to the enhancement and protection of human rights based on its approach derived from the principles of the Islamic Sharia which makes these rights as duties.
The meeting concluded after discussing a number of domestic issues including the signing of agreement between the Kingdom and Djibouti on cooperation in the military field; the signing of a draft agreement between the Kingdom and Georgia on the avoidance of income double taxation; and the agreement between the Kingdom and Russia on cooperation in the field of peaceful usage of atomic energy.
