The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the Cabinet's weekly session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh this afternoon.
King Salman expressed his thanks to United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon for his condolences on the death of the late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and briefed the Cabinet on the outcome of his talks with on regional and international issues, the cooperation between the Kingdom and the UN. The Cabinet was also briefed on King Salman’s telephone call with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi of Egypt.
The Cabinet expressed its regret over the crisis in Yemen which it considers a threat to the security of Yemen and the region. The Cabinet condemned the Houthi’s coup against the legitimacy government and is incompatible with international resolutions and contrary to the Gulf Cooperation Council initiative, and the process the Yemeni national dialogue.
The Cabinet reiterated its condemnation of the heinous and atrocious murder of Jordanian pilot 1st Lt. Muath Al-Kasasbeh and Japanese nationals Kenji Goto and Haruna Yukawam.
The Cabinet then approved the following: a memorandum of understanding on bilateral political consultations Tajikistan, signed in Riyadh on 30/05/1435 AH; approved the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance and the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments of Bahrain, and the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs of Comoros; approved additional shares International Finance Corporation; approved: the formation of the Board of Directors of the National Water Company; and approved the organization of the departments of the Council of Ministers.
