King Salman Chairs Cabinet Session
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh this afternoon.
King Salman expressed his appreciation on the success of North Thunder military exercise and said the maneuvers showed determination and readiness to the allied forces to fight terrorism and dangers facing Arab and Islamic nations.
King Salman briefed the Cabinet on the outcomes of his meetings, held on the sidelines of the closing maneuver of Northern Thunder, with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi of Egypt, Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif; the message received from the President of Guinea-Bissau; and the outcomes of his meetings with President Dr. Mulatu Teshome of Ethiopia, US Secretary of State John Kerry, and European Union Special Representative for Middle East Peace Process Fernando Jntleyna.
The Cabinet commended the outcomes of the 5th joint meeting of Foreign Ministers of Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States, Jordan and Morocco; the joint ministerial meeting with Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister; the meetings of 138th session of the Council; and the 24th meeting of Ministers of Information and commended resolutions issued by the 145th session of the Council of the Arab League, stressing that the League's resolution on considering Lebanese Hezbollah group a terrorist organization and denunciation of Iran’s interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries.
The Cabinet welcomed the recommendations and resolutions on Palestine, issued by the Extraordinary Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in Jakarta on March 6.
The Cabinet condemned the terrorist attack in the Turkish capital of Ankara as well as the terrorist attack which targeted military and civilian facilities in the Tunisian city of Ben Guerdane. The Cabinet also condemned the terrorist attack against the beach resort of Grand Bassam in the Ivory Coast.
The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom’s solidarity with Turkey, Tunisia and the Ivory Coast and extended condolences to the families of the victims.
