King Salman Chairs Cabinet Session
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh this afternoon. At the outset of the session, King Salman briefed the Cabinet on his talks with Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi, King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs of Oman.
The Cabinet then reviews the latest domestic, regional and international events. The Council of Ministers expressed regret over the situations in Yemen and expressed it support for President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, the legitimate president of Yemen.
The Cabinet condemned the continued Israeli violation of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and urged the international community to assume its responsibilities in working to move the peace process stalled because of Israeli intransigence, and put an end to the conflict by ending the occupation, and establishing the State of Palestine with Al-Quds (Jersualem) as its capital.
The Cabinet also condemned criminal acts carried out the Daesh (ISIL) against Iraqi civilians and their cultural heritage in Mosul.
The Council of Ministers then approved the following: a General Agreement for Cooperation the Comoros, signed in Jeddah City on 20/08/1435 AH; an agreement on cooperation in the field of mutual recognition of driving licenses with Morocco, signed in Marrakech on 11/05/1435 AH; the renewal of the membership of Dr. Abdullah bin Hussein bin Abdulrahman Alqadhi, Amer bin Abdul Hamid bin Fauzan Al-Dulaijan and Dr. Faisal bin Mohammed Amin bin Tawfiq al-Tamimi to the National Committee for Geographic Information Systems, for three years.
The Council also authorized the Minister of Labor, or his deputy, to negotiated a memorandum of understanding in the areas of labor with Mexico; authorized the Minister of Civil Service, or his deputy, to negotiated a memorandum of understanding in the areas of field of civil service with Kazakhstan; authorized the President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), or his deputy, to negotiate a draft framework memorandum for cooperation in the field of creative economy and society based on knowledge between KACST and Korea’s Ministry of Science, Information Technology, Communication and Future Planning.
