King Salman Chairs Cabinet Session
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on this evening. King Salman began the meeting by thanking leaders and officials of sisterly countries and all those who congratulated him on the holy month of Ramadan and appealed to Allah Almighty to help Muslims all over the world to perform fasting and accept their good deeds.
The King them briefed the Cabinet on his talks with the President of Pakistan Memnon Hussein and his meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusolu.
The Council of Ministers was then briefed on meetings Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, briefed the Council of Ministers on his visit by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, held during his trip to Russia, including President Vladimir Putin and the agreements, memoranda of understanding and executive programs, covering cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and space, military cooperation, housing, petroleum sector and investment. Prince Mohammed bin Salman noted the strength of relations between the two countries and the desire to deepen their cooperation in all fields and enhancing security and stability in the region.
The Cabinet reviewed a number of reports on the latest developments in the region and the world, welcoming the final communique of the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the on the Situation in Yemen which was held in Jeddah on June 16. The Cabinet stressed The Kingdom's support for all efforts to end the Yemeni crisis and its utter rejection of any foreign intervention in Yemen's affairs without a request from the legitimate government.
The Council of Ministers expressed regret over the failure of the Yemeni parties to reach an agreement at the U.N. sponsored peace talk in Geneva.
The Council authorized the Minister of Finance, or his deputy, to sign a draft agreement on the establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and approve the memorandum of understanding on political consultations with Uruguay which was signed in Jeddah on 23/5/1435 H.
