The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh this afternoon. King Salman briefed the Cabinet on his message to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, his telephone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, as well as the results of his meetings with Bahraini Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, and US Secretary of State John Kerry.
The Cabinet was then briefed on the latest regional and international developments and the quadrilateral meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, and Turkish Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioglu to discuss the Syrian conflict.
The Cabinet was then briefed on visits by Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir to Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Austria.
On domestic affairs, the Cabinet praised Saline Water Conversion Corporation's winning two awards from the World Water Summit, the first in recognition of being the best Saline Water Conversion Company in the world due to its developmental tools adopted by it in the management of its works and operational instruments, and the second award for its desalination plant at Ras Al-Khair due to the modern and leading technologies as well as the unprecedented global operational levels in the efficiency of the plant's design, stressing that the top position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's superiority in this important strategic industry embodies the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' support for this vital and important sector.
