The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Monday afternoon. King Salman began by briefing the Cabinet on his phone calls with King Abdullah II of Jordan, U.S. President Barack Obama, and President Vladimir Putin of Russia, as well as the results of his talks with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud and President of Chad Idriss Deby Itno. The Cabinet was also briefed on King Salman’s meeting with British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond.
The Cabinet was then briefed on the final declaration on the results of the Syria Talks in Vienna as agreed by 17 countries participating in the talks.
The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom's condemnation of the aggression of Israeli occupation authorities and settlers against Palestinians and Islamic holy sites, and called on the international community to act quickly.
The Cabinet then expressed its sincere condolences to the governments and people of Afghanistan and Pakistan on the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck the two countries last week, also expressing its deep condolences to the Russian Federation's leadership and people on the victims of the Russian plane that crashed over Sinai.
On domestic affairs, the Cabinet expressed its strong condemnation of the terrorist bombing of Al-Mash'had Mosque in Najran, stressing that these terrorist attacks only increase the citizens' unity and cohesion.
The Cabinet stressed the importance of the 6th Ministerial meeting of the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF). The Forum is expected to receive about 250 ministers, officials and experts in the field of energy, environment and sustainable development, and is to be help in Paris on 30 November-11 December 2015 with the obligation for clean energy and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
