The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz today appointed Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz as the Kingdom's new ambassador the the United States.
Prince Khalid graduated from the King Faisal Air Academy in Riyadh and received pilot training in the United States at Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi and advanced electronic warfare in France.
While on active duty in the Royal Saudi Air Force, Prince Khalid flew F15-S combat missions against Daesh (ISIS) as part of the Global Coalition Against Daesh and over Yemen as part of Operations Decisive Storm and Renewal of Hope.
He was assigned to the Office of the Minister of Defense after a back injury prevented him from flying. At the conclusion of his military service, Prince Khalid was appointed as a senior civilian adviser at the Ministry of Defense. In 2016, he was assigned as an advisor to the Saudi Embassy in Washington, DC.
