The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and an accompanying delegation at his palace in Riyadh today. During their talks, Wen conveyed the greetings of Chinese President Hu Jintao, and then the two sides discussed Saudi-Chinese relations and regional and international issues. The audience was attended by Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Defense Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz; Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal; Chief of General Intelligence Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz; Commander of the National Guard Prince Meteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; and a number of other officials.
Afterwards, in the presence of the King Abdullah and Premier Wen, a number of cooperation accords were signed. A cooperation agreement between the Diplomatic Studies Institute of the Saudi Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Foreign University was signed by Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal and his Chinese counterpart, Yang Jitche. A memorandum of understanding to build a plant to produce poly carbonate in the Chinese city of Tianjin was signed by President of Saudi Arabian Basic Industries (SABIC) Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thinayan and President of the Board of Directors of the Chinese Sinopec Corporation Futching Yu. Agreements were also signed for an executive program for cultural cooperation between the Saudi and Chinese governments for the years 2012-2017; the peaceful usage of nuclear energy; and a working program between the King Abdulaziz Public Library and the University of Beijing.
