Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Ahmed Al-Jubeir today met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo in Jeddah. During the meeting, they discussed relations of mutual interest to the two nations. The meeting was attended by the Minister of State Mohammed bin Abdulmalik Al AsSheikh, Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia Mustapha Mubarak.
In a statement following the meeting, Minister Al-Jubeir said that he has conveyed the willingness of the Saudi leadership, during the reception, represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince to build strategic relations with Indonesia, in all fields and that achieving that goal has been, greatly, welcomed by the president.
“We have discussed the situation in the Islamic world, challenges facing it, how to deal with them and cooperate to confront them, he added, and explained to His Excellency what the region, currently, faces, either in Syria, Iraq or Yemen, in addition to Iran's intervention in the affairs of the Kingdom, importance of cooperation and consultation between the two countries, to best serve security and stability, in the Islamic world and the world, in general.”
