Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir met today with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi in Baghdad during an official visit to Iraq.  During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest in addition to means of enhancing bilateral relations.

Minister Al-Jubeir later met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafari. Following the meeting, Minister Al-Jubeir expressed his pleasure to visit Iraq for the first time, stressing that the Kingdom stands equidistant from all parties in Iraq and described his meeting with Prime Minister Al-Abadi as positive and fruitful.

The foreign minister congratulated Iraq on its achievements in countering terrorism, stressing the desire of both countries to eliminate the scourge of terrorism.
