The conversation began with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman expressing his appreciation to President Trump for the good reception the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, received on his official visit to the United States, highlighting the fruitful meetings and the important agreements signed between the two countries, and noting that the success of this visit has a positive echo beyond the Kingdom. The visit reflects the unique nature and the strong bond the Saudi-U.S. partnership has at all levels.
During the call, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques emphasized the need to move the peace process in the Middle East forward through an international effort, stressing the Kingdom's continued support for Palestine and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, which includes the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The call included King Salman expressing his appreciation for the White House’s solidarity in strongly condemning the Houthi militias, who continue to attack the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with Iranian support, and recognizing the destabilizing force Iran plays in the region; and the role the Kingdom plays in achieving stability in the region. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also stressed the Kingdom's efforts to find a political solution to the Yemeni conflict and continued efforts to provide humanitarian relief and support to all the Yemeni people.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of the efforts and what has been achieved in Iraq and Syria jointly; as part of concerted international efforts to fight terrorism, with King Salman reiterating the need to find a solution to the Syrian crisis that fulfills the aspirations of the Syrian people.
