Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz received Britain’s Heir Apparent, Charles, Prince of Wales, at his ranch in Dir’iyya yesterday evening. Crown Prince Salman took the British delegation on a tour of Ouja Palace, during which they viewed photographs and historical antiquities related to King Abdulaziz, the founder of the modern Kingdom, and the city of Riyadh. Then, Crown Prince Salman hosted a dinner in honor of Prince Charles.
The audience and dinner were attended by Prince Khalid bin Fahd bin Khalid; Second Deputy Prime Minister Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz; Prince Mansour bin Saud; Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz; Prince Saad bin Faisal bin Saad; Prince Talal bin Saud; Riyadh Governor Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Prince Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz; Commander of the National Guard Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Musaed; Prince Sattam bin Saud; President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz; and a number of other officials.
Today, Prince Charles participated in a meeting organized by the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue. Speaking to the participants, the British Prince lauded the wisdom of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in establishing the Center and stressed the importance of dialogue between civilizations.
Later, Prince Charles met with Speaker of the Majlis Al-Shura Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Asheikh. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the strong relations between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, including the ties between the Majlis Al-Shura and the British Parliament. Prince Charles hailed the decision of King Abdullah to appoint thirty Saudi women to serve in the latest session of the Majlis.
