Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Session
The Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Mohammad bin Naif bin Abdulaziz chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah this afternoon.
The Cabinet began its session with a briefing on the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz’s meeting with Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi and emphasized the Kingdom's full support for Yemen’s legitimate government.
The Cabinet also express its appreciation to President Hadi’s letter to King Salman in which President Hadi expressed his thanks and gratitude for the royal order which facilitated nearly half a million illegal Yemenis to correct their residency status in the Kingdom, allowing them to work to improve their living conditions and preserve their dignity.
The Cabinet reviewed a number of local and regional developments and expressed its strong condemnation of the terrorist bombing in Karanah, Bahrain, and offered its condolences to the martyrs and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
The Cabinet reviewed a number of issues on its agenda and issued the following decisions: authorized the Minister of Culture and Information, or his deputy, to sign an executive program for cooperation in the field of radio and television, as well as an executive program on cultural cooperation with Egypt in the framework of Saudi-Egyptian Joint Committee; authorized the Minister of Education, or his deputy, to sign an executive educational and tutorial program with Egypt, in the framework of the Saudi-Egyptian Joint Committee; authorized the Minister of Labor, or his deputy, to negotiate and sign a memorandum of understanding in the areas of labor with Egypt; authorized the Minister of Agriculture, or his deputy, to negotiate and sign a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in agricultural fields with Egypt; authorize the President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, or his deputy, to negotiate and sign a draft agreement on cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy with Egypt; and authorized the President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, or his deputy, to discuss and sign a draft framework agreement on cooperation in the field of peaceful usage of atomic energy with Canada.
The Cabinet approved the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Education and Communications of Finland for cooperation in the field of communications and information technology which was signed on November 4, 2014.
