“The Iran backed Houthis committed a massacre in the market of Al-Thabet in Saada today” said Colonel Turki Al Maliki, spokesman for the coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen. Al Maliki said the Houthis targeted the Al Thabit tribe because of their support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
In a telephone conversation with Al-Arabiya, Al Maliki stated that the Houthi militias continue to commit brutal crimes and falsely accuse the coalition, adding that UN organizations should do more to highlight the growing list of Houthi human rights violations in Yemen. Additionally, he revealed that the coalition is working with Al-Thaqab elders to transport the those wounded by today’s rocket attack for treatment in Jazan, southern Saudi Arabia.
Earlier today, the Yemeni government condemned the Houthi’s use of Katyusha rockets to target the Al Thabet market in Saada province. The attack left 10 civilians dead and 20 others wounded.
