The Coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen has successfully intercepted and downed an armed drone in Yemeni airspace, Spokesman Col. Turki Al Maliki has announced. The drone was launched by the Iran backed Houthi terrorists from Sana'a province, in an attempt to target civilians in the Kingdom.
Al Maliki reminded the international community of the hostile actions committed by the Houthis, pointing out that its guided ballistic missiles and armed drones target civilian facilities and residential neighborhoods inhabited by unarmed civilians. Deliberate targeting of civilians is a war crime that runs counter to international humanitarian law, he said.
Additionally, Al Maliki dismissed recent Houthi allegations on targeting airports and military sites as false, saying that in reality all Houthi attempts to target the Kingdom have failed, thanks to the vigilant heroes of the coalition forces. He asserted that the coalition will thwart all hostile and illegal attempts by the Iran backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen to attack the Kingdom.
