Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz Khoja headed the Saudi delegation to an extraordinary session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers in Cairo today. The meeting was attended by Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa, Egyptian Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni and officials from several other Arab countries.
Following their deliberations, the ministers decided to convene a special session of the Arab Information Permanent Committee with the participation of legal experts and journalists to discuss the establishment of an Arab Information Commission. In addition, the Council stressed the continuing efforts of Arab countries to combat extremism, violence, sectarianism and terrorism.
