Education Minister Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Saud, who serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Saudi Equestrian Fund, arrived in the U.S. state of Kentucky on Tuesday evening to attend an exhibition entitled “A Gift from the Desert: The Art, History and Culture of the Arabian Horse.” Vice President-General of Youth Welfare and President of the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation (SAEF), Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, and Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear will jointly inaugurate “A Gift From the Desert” tomorrow at the International Museum in Lexington.
In a press statement, Prince Faisal said that the five-month long exhibition carries a message of friendship from the Saudi people to the American people and will present the history of Saudi civilization. He characterized the event as a gift from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to equestrian fans across the world.
More than 350 heritage pieces collected from various museums and individuals around the world will be on display. The exhibition coincides with Kentucky’s hosting of the World Equestrian Championship.
