The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America announce that on May 20, 2023, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces signed an Agreement on a Short-Term Ceasefire and Humanitarian Arrangements. The short-term ceasefire, which enters into force 48 hours after the signing of the agreement, shall remain in effect for seven days and may be extended with the agreement of both parties.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has finalized the implementation of all humanitarian evacuations of its citizens and foreign nationals of brotherly and friendly countries from the Republic of Sudan, under the directives and follow-up of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince, and in response to requests received by the Kingdom from many countries worldwide.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America are pleased to announce that on May 11, 2023 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces signed a declaration commitment to protect the civilians of Sudan. The declaration of commitment recognizes the obligations of both sides, under international humanitarian and human rights law to facilitate humanitarian action to meet the emergency needs of civilians.
Her Royal Highness Princess Reema Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States, visited Boeing’s facility in Charleston, South Carolina today to meet with David Calhoun, president and chief executive officer of the Boeing company, and the wider team at Boeing, to celebrate the recent agreements between the Kingdom and Boeing to purchase up to 121 Boeing 787 Dreamliners for both the new world-class and digitally led airline, Riyadh Air, and the Saudi Arabian flag carrier, SAUDIA. The agreements constitute the fifth largest commercial order by value in Boeing’s history.
In continuation of the evacuation efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the directives of the Kingdoms Leadership, several evacuees arrived at King Abdullah Air Base in Jeddah on April 30th, 2023 from the Republic of Sudan, which included 45 Saudi citizens and 36 Pakistani citizens, and were evacuated through a transport plane of the Royal Saudi Air Force. Additionally, H M S "Al-Diriyah" arrived in Jeddah, with 52 people on board of the following nationalities: (Sultanate of Oman, Pakistan, the United States of America, and Nepal).
