الحاقا لما سبق نشره من السفارة ونظرا لما تم رصده من حالات احتيال متكررة تعرض لها مواطنون سعوديون عن طريق اتصالات ورسائل بريد إلكترونية وهمية من قبل أشخاص مجهولين ينتحلون شخصية موظفين في السفارة مستخدمين برامج إلكترونية تظهر بأن رقم المتصل هو رقم سفارة المملكة بواشنطن أو رقم الملحقية الثقافية بواشنطن أو أن عنوان البريد الإلكتروني للمرسل ينتمي لقائمة العناوين التابعة للسفارة ويقومون بطلب تحويل مبالغ مالية و أنه في حال امتناع المواطنين يقوم هؤلاء الأشخاص بتهديدهم بتحويلهم الى الجهات الأمنية بالمملكة أو الملاحقة الدولية.
