Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz held talks today with visiting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. At the outset of their meeting, King Salman was awarded the Medal of Honor, the highest honor granted by Palestine, in recognition of King Salman’s stances towards the Palestinian cause.
During their talks, the two leaders discussed developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.

A fire broke out at dawn today in Jazan General Hospital resulted in the death of 25 people and injury of 107 others. The Ministry of Health announced that all death from were due to a smoke inhalation. The spokesman of the Civil Defense Directorate in Jazan Province Maj. Yahya Al-Qahtani reported that twenty-one ambulances and fire units were sent to the hospital after an emergency call at 2:10 a.m. Maj. Al-Qahtani said that an investigation is still underway to determine the causes of the incident.

(WASHINGTON, DC) – During an opening speech at the 36th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit in Riyadh yesterday, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz called on the Gulf states to cooperate against threats and stressed that terrorism, and all its sources, must be eliminated.
King Salman called on the leaders of the GCC to build a joint defense system in order to protect their countries and their people from external threats, including that of terrorism. He reiterated that Islam doesn’t endorse terrorism.

The Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, inaugurated this evening the activities of the seventh edition of the Riyadh Economic three day Forum.
The Minister highlighted the Saudi government’s economic policies to cope with the current global economic developments and challenges and stressed that the Kingdom is continuing to carry out the economic reforms aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the economy through diversification of sources of income, raising the Saudi economy's ability to meet the challenges.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King ordered the Kingdom to help meet Egypt’s petroleum needs for the next five years. He also ordered that Saudi investments in Egypt be more than SR 30 billion Riyals ($8 billion).
